Annette Ziaja is a visual artist with a focus in painting. Her work is inspired by her first generation background, raised in the Chicago area by two Polish immigrants, and is currently based in Detroit. Ziaja’s paintings navigate domestic nostalgia and deep appreciation for her cultural heritage, reminiscing on the summers she spent growing up in the eastern countryside of Poland. She is currently attending College for Creative Studies, studying Art Practice and Creative Entrepreneurship. Ziaja’s pieces have been recently featured in her school’s annual exhibition and the Leafless: Juried Undergraduate Student Exhibition in the Center Galleries.
